How Much Will I Spend On My Remodel?
One of the most important factors in planning a remodel is determining your budget. Many things impact the budget for a bathroom or kitchen remodel including square footage, layout changes needed, and quality of finishes like cabinetry, flooring, and fixtures. MUSE wants to make the budgeting process simple. By choosing from our three levels of renovation, you will guide our designers to choose finishes that will meet your budget while giving you the look you’ve dreamed of. The price ranges stated below are reflective of the types of finishes most requested by our customers. In most cases, our customers are looking to move from builder basic to an upgraded product, similar to what you will see on our website. We provide healthy allowances at this initial estimating phase, so that when you move through the design phase, you are able to select finishes that you will be happy with in the end.
Bathroom Remodels
Budget Based Update
$25,000 - $40,000
With this level of renovation, we will be keeping certain existing elements of your bathroom and keeping your layout as-is in order to meet your budget.
Existing Layout remains the same.
Upgrade counter tops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and tile surrounds for tub and/or shower
Acrylic shower pan, Pre-fab semi- frameless shower glass
Master baths around100 sq ft
Out with Builder-Grade, In with the UPGRADE!
$40,000 - $60,000
Work with a MUSE designer, in our showroom, to select from the latest products and materials. See and feel your selections before making your final decisions.
At this point, we will review and finalize your budget based on your final selections.
Fully Custom Reno or Large Scale Bath
$60,000 +
With this level of renovation, we will be reconfiguring your layout and replacing all of your finishes with high end, custom finishes.
Layout changes: including moving walls, eliminating tubs to enlarge showers, filling in windows over tubs that are removed.
Replace cabinetry with all wood, semi-custom cabinetry. Upgrade countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, tile shower, tile flooring, custom tile shower pan, custom frameless shower glass
Baths over 120 sq ft
Kitchen Remodels
Budget Based Update
$30,000 - $55,000
With this level of renovation, we will be keeping certain existing elements of your kitchen and keeping your layout as-is in order to meet your budget. Does not include appliances.
Existing layout essentially remains the same. No plumbing or electrical reconfiguration.
Keep some existing floor-covering or replace with budget-based such as LVT planks.
For small to average kitchens: new, stock cabinetry with 30-36” upper cabinets. Basic crown molding. No applied panels or molding details.
For larger kitchens: painting existing cabinetry could be a budget option
Laminate or Level 1 Quartz counter tops, new plumbing fixtures, minimal lighting.
4” back splash in same material as counters.
Small kitchens 100 sq ft or less
Out with Builder-Grade, In with the UPGRADE!
$55,000 - $80,000
With this level of renovation, we will be replacing all of the finishes and fixtures with new upgraded finishes while keeping the existing footprint. Does not include appliances.
Existing layout essentially remains the same. Minor relocation of plumbing or electrical.
Replace cabinetry with all wood, semi- custom cabinetry. Custom trim details (crown, brackets, panels, interior cabinet organization, glass doors available at this level.)
Level 2-3 Quartz counter tops, full tile back splash, new plumbing fixtures, under cabinet lighting, flooring, and paint
Average size kitchen 100 – 120 sq ft
Fully Custom Reno or Large Scale Bath
$80,000 - $120,000+
With this level of renovation, we will be reconfiguring your layout and replacing all of your finishes with high end, custom finishes. Does not include appliances.
May include layout changes: moving walls, rearranging appliances, adding islands. Full reconfiguration of wiring and plumbing.
Fully custom cabinetry with hundreds of finish options and custom decorative details. Semi- custom cabinetry can also be used to lower budget, yet achieve a reconfigured, upgraded footprint.
Upper Level quartz counter tops, custom tile back splash, new plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, and paint
May include expanded scope of work in additional areas
